In the aftermath of Katrina people had trouble getting jobs after a relocation because they had no documentation or access to a resume. Can you prove who you are? Where you live? Do you have info backed up in the Cloud?

Why are we continually told to prepare for just three days? Winter storms regularly knock out power and water for that long in some communities. The New Yorker article suggested no water for a month or more. Yet the Red Cross, FEMA, and even the fire departments tout "3 days, 3 ways." Shouldn't the minimum time to survive on your own be 1-2 weeks?
