Good answers. Any references/links to the proposed optical communication links and how these may outperform current RF methods?

  1. Proposed are multiple satellites, would they require multiple launch vehicles?

  2. What earth-bound technologies might come of these vehicles launching? or, what engineering challenges remain to making this project a reality?

  3. What are the cost projections for this project? If not solid numbers, maybe in comparison to NASA's budget or the previous Voyager missions?
