Well to be more specific, 72% rated dog food the worst tasting, they just didn't then go on to guess it was the dog food. The authors of the study postulated that it was because they may have been "primed" to believe that dog food tasted better than it does by the authors themselves in how they presented the study (that none of it would be disgusting). People figured out the worst, they just didn't go on to pick it, probably trying to "outsmart" the study.
