I was once diagnosed with TGA but it turned out to be repetitive seizures caused by a brain injury. Have you ever had seizures or other brain conditions?

Yes? From what I can tell, there's nothing to operate on. I don't have any tumors or scar tissue, so there's nothing they can really do about it. That's why they think the RNS will work well for me; we know where the seizures are starting so we think they can stop them with the neuropace device.

I did an AMA a few days ago when I was killing time in the hospital. Check it out :) https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/3l83x0/iama_person_diagnosed_with_epilepsy_currently/

I just had deep brain monitoring for my epilepsy; also temporal lobe. I'm going to be getting the RNS in a month or two.

Congrats!

I just got out of surgery a couple days ago; mine wasn't a resection though. I'm glad it's working out so well for you. What kinds of seizures did you have? I'm so happy you're a year seizure free! That's awesome.

"Auras" are usually focal seizures in themselves, so a VNS would potentially help. Idk if it's been approved in the UK yet, but there's actually a similar device, the RNS, which is designed more for focal seizures and could work even better. Ive had mine for 3 years and seen about a 30% reduction in seizure activity.
