Have you thought about having an actual chat room for the livethreads? Facebook is annoying to refresh and Twitter isn't the right medium for group conversations.
Also, what about a smartphone app? It would be a great additional Ad revenue source, and would make it easier as your network expands (similar to Adam Carolla's app).
