Since the chinese government usually avoids to lose their face under all costs, do you think there is a way left for them to step back from this escalated situation without losing their face?

Or in other words, is there a way that they will actually give in?

I am not trolling here, this is genuine interest, because they have proven extremely resistant to protests in the past.
