My cousin got swine flu at the age of 31. He went into a coma that lasted 6 months, but he never woke up. I miss him every day. I'm glad you did wake up from that coma and I'm glad you're living a good clean life now. Don't take it for granted.

I was flying with my ex sister in law when the plane dipped suddenly. She screamed "We're all gonna die!" and everyone burst out laughing. She wasn't amused but I was glad that was the reaction. I'm a nervous flier myself but the silliness of her reaction actually made me feel better as well.

Have you ever been afraid that the plane would be unable to land safely (weather, mechanical issues, etc)?

Thanks for your input.. I'm glad it ended well and it seems that you and your coworkers all acted professionally. I'm a nervous flier so I rely on the calm flight attendants to help keep me sane on flights. I was let down once... I was on a tiny 30 person jet with just one flight attendant. We get ready to take off and it turns out one of the engines won't start. We get off the plane and wait for another plane to arrive a few hours later. By then, a storm is approaching. The flight attendant is loudly telling everyone about this fact and telling us we should have transferred to another flight or another day. At this point I'm having a full blown panic attack due to her blabber. We have a rocky take off but the rest of the flight was fine.. except for her going on about how she 'hoped' there were no thunderstorms like that when we landed, which kept me upset until we landed.. smoothly and safely.

But as I said, the vast majority of flight personnel are calm and professional, and that's the only way I can manage to get on an airplane at all. Nervous passengers like myself appreciate your professionalism! :)

It caused organ failure in my cousin. I can't speak for OP. He coded for several minutes and was shocked back, but I guess the damage was done. His other organs actually recovered some while he was in the coma, but not his brain. My family couldn't bring themselves to stop live support, then he got some infections due to being bedridden and breathing via machine and succumbed.
