Here's the scene. I can't tell what he says when she asks what the name of the song is.

If the admins now come in and fire all the mods, the integrity of AMA will basically be ruined.

That won't just ruin the integrity of /r/IAMA, it will cause a major shitstorm site-wide and could conceivably ruin reddit once and for all. Admins have always been 'hands off' and, as far as I'm aware, have never forcefully removed moderators/creators from subreddits. If we woke up tomorrow and all the IAMA mods were removed to be replaced by some employee of Reddit, it will be clear evidence they're doing something nefarious - like turning this subreddit into some additional source of revenue by charging people to have an AMA hosted here.

I guess I missed this whole debacle because I didn't know who Jon Finkel was, or that there was a story written about him. I found it through a google search, and in that search I also saw an article on Forbes, so I read that - and it basically said this was by design. She's a freelance writer for Gizmodo and gets paid by the number of hits to her story. The story got over 500k page views (probably more by now, I don't want to add another hit to their page). Why else would you write some shallow, bitchy post on GIZMODO of all places, making fun of a nerd/geek? As the Forbes article states, that's like Kotaku writing an article trashing LAN parties or something like that. Write some article that enrages your target demographic and they will flock to your site in droves.

They basically re-purposed the Back To The Future ride into The Simpsons ride. It's the same building, same setup, same type of ride, only with the Simpsons as the subject. I actually like it better than Back To The Future - it's quite funny, and I'm surprised Universal allowed them to do some of what they did (a good portion of the humor involved makes fun of theme parks, pushing you out into the gift shops, etc). They've also built up around the building with a bunch of carnival games, Moe's Tavern where you can buy Duff Beer, etc.

If I read that correctly, that means that a reporter can do an interview, write their article, and then they have to get approval of the use of their quotes before publishing? If so, that's BS and they shouldn't participate in that. "You can quote me, but not that one thing I said."
