Exactly what I was thinking! His AMA anything was weak--hardly answered any questions, not very entertaining...this lady is awesome and answered tons of questions and is hilarious! Most badass AMA ever.

My husband was also born with one hand for the same reason as you. He also plays drums and guitar and is the same age as you, so when I saw your post I thought wait a minute, is this the female version of my husband?!

Like you, his one handedness does not impact his ability to do anything, play music, drive a car, work, cook etc. Actually, we joke that he is better at most things than I am haha.

So my question: when my husband was a kid he at one point used a prosthetic but as he got older obviously grew out of it and never got another. He says it was more of a hindrance than help. Do you use one and do you find it helps? Thanks for the videos, I will show my husband later tonight! Especially the onion one, because he always says he can't cut onions and potatos, but I really thing he just doesn't want to haha!

I'm 11 years post kidney transplant, so obviously can't donate but rooting for you to find a kidney! I was on home hemodialysis for two years before my transplant. PD didn't work for me, I was not getting adequate clearance of toxins and had to switch to hemo.

I'm supposed to ask you question too so here you go! What are you looking most forward to after your transplant? And what makes you most anxious/worried about your transplant? Maybe I can tell you my experiences and help. And if you have any questions about the kidney transplant experience, let me know!

Yes, after your transplant you can eat a bigger variety of foods and you have more of an appetite (too much sometimes!) But there are also some foods you can't eat right after your transplant, like sushi because it is raw fish. Sushi is my favorite food and I couldn't eat it for a few years.

The immunosuppressants for me at least, aren't too big a deal. I take three different medications (plus birth control) once a day in the mornings. I have been very fortunate to not have any side effects from my meds except weight gain from the Prednisone. My kidneys also initially failed from an autoimmune disease and the same meds that suppress your immune system will also reduce the changes of the IGA recurring. My kidney was from a deceased donor and I have had it over 11 years without any issues.
