The technology isn't outdated necessarily. If the instruments are well kept and checked appropriately the results can be accurate.

I inspect and maintain the instruments my state uses, the Intoximeter EC/IR II. We have required proficiency tests and accuracy checks that are completed monthly, and we inspect each instrument yearly and verify that it is kept clean and functioning properly.

We also have a good reputation with defense lawyers, because we have nothing to hide.
