When I asked my american friends, who are fanatics of Inglorious Basterds and how Quentin made fun out of the German Nazis, if they ever saw "Iron Sky", they starred at me like I am coming from Mars. So, how do you see the reception of Iron Sky (and the upcoming sequel) in America? (Knowing you are also living in L.A.)

@thinkofthevariables: I think some of the Germans were growing up, that some of the shit our grandfathers were doing, wasn't our fault. When you see what's happening on US TV shows sometimes, we are still far away to make jokes about some topics, like Nazis, Jewish Live etc. I saw a roasting show the last time I was in the US, they were roasting Bob Saget of Full House Fame. He's jewish and they made so many (here in Germany you could say) Anti-Jewish jokes, I had to throw up many times. But they don't have this issue, when it comes to make some funny jokes about it. And this is how we (the Germans) have to handle all this as well. Making Jokes about Minorities or Religions don't mean you are a Brown Scumbag. I'll actually do this every day in our office, and making jokes about italian/spanish/french ppl (and of course about US peeps). And they do the same with me. Movies like Iron Sky, Inglorious Basterds or even Big Lebowski do help us to realize, that it's better to laugh about those ppl who are scumbags than to fear them...and fear is what makes those ppl strong (this is also true for some Governments of the Middle East and Religious leaders).

And honestly Julia played the "Blond, Blue Eyed, German Maiden" so well...it was amazing...

Julia, btw...who in the Iron Sky team came up with using the 'Dark Side Of The Moon' punchline of Pink Floyds record and does Pink Floyd knew it?
