Yeah, there are a few issues in how the system works, but it does work and this specific case would be a very very very rare diagnosis. A heart tumor in a 27 year old.....And the out of pocket expenses for this patient I would expect to be in in the low thousands<10k probably less than 5k...which would be near enough for an uninsured patient, with a very similar outcome.timeframe for both uninsured/insured patients.

What was your dad's cost end to end? And what would have been the cost if he was uninsured?
