I have to admit that I would have been disappointed if you had given another response. While it is not a role of journalism to provide narrative, it is necessary to provide context. I applaud your position of fundamental journalistic ethics. It is saddening to me that many organizations are paying their bills with the converse.

On the topic of Wikileaks, is there a developing narrative that your organization is attempting to cultivate, regarding the State Department activities described in the leaked cables? Pro Wikileaks Con Julian Assange? That seems to be the "company line" for many orgs.

It wasn't necessarily confidentiality agreements as much as it was agreeing to the "release embargo" that was intended to prevent the outlets from scooping each other, at least that was the Wikileaks position.
