Not OP but maybe I can help since I also have Tourette's Syndrome. Hence why I came to this thread, however im disappointed at the lack of answers here. At least with me, verbal outbursts aren't all too common. The most verbal I get is uttering small sounds like "uh" or coughing-like sounds. The biggest area for me is movement tics: shaking my head, rolling my eyes, lifting my legs, and having my arms twitch. Hope I was able to answer well!

EDIT: I don't know if i'm allowed to, but i'm able to answer other questions if OP doesn't show. If all else fails, feel welcome to PM me.

EDIT 2: I guess i'm gonna start answering all the questions I can tonight! Thank you for the opportunity and for accepting my answers, it means a great deal everyone.

EDIT 3: Alright final edit, this has been amazing to jump in here and answer these questions. I'm heading off to bed now but PM me if I missed anything that you would like to see answered!

Not OP, but as you can see from the first answer i'm gonna jump in and help out. When it comes to school, things can get tricky. It can sometimes be hard to concentrate when you're worried about your tics in a quiet classroom. Worries cause nerves, nerves cause Tourette's to spike. My friends in school know of the condition and have been very accepting which makes it better. I'm still able to succeed in school if I try like all the other students, but what it really comes down to is trying to come off as "normal" to any new classmate you meet.

I'm gonna answer some questions since people seem to be interested and OP isn't here. I was diagnosed when I was 4, currently i'm 19. Nothing triggered my condition, my parents just kind of noticed certain behaviors of mine and took me to see a doctor. It came right out of the blue, no specific cause.

Not everyone with Tourette's yells out "FUCK SHIT ASS PUSSY" or other profane words 24/7.

Believe it or not, i've never been bullied or picked on! All of my friends are very respectful. I feel like I do not have to try and suppress my tics when i'm around them. I've never been approached or picked on by strangers either. That being said, I have received weird looks from little kids in public, but of course they don't know any better. The hardest part is dealing with it around strangers, or new friends. You never know how someone is going to react.
