Hello, my Grandmother was Renie Conley, and my Mother was June Van Dyke. I grew up around costumes and costumers, how I became a production sound mixer.....

I was reading your comments about avoiding Edith Head, when you and she were at Universal Studios. I was surprised that you avoided her, don't you think you could've learned from her? I knew her to be a very kind and loving person, but my relationship wasn't professional. I recall you said that she was someone to "avoid."

Why?

I recall my Grandmother sponsoring you, she had mentioned it to me. The least you could do, is to spell her name correctly, Renie. Which was her professional name for many years, solely Renie. She first used her married name, Conley, on "Body Heat." My Mother, June Van Dyke, was Edith Head's Producer, of her traveling costume shows, done for charities worldwide. She, and Elizabeth Taylor, were the only other people named in her will. My Mother inherited the traveling costume collection, and Ms. Taylor, was willed the famous necklace made from movie tokens, that Edith was so very fond of. I have a couple of pieces of memorabilia from Edith, I have several of her eyeglasses, and a sketch done by her husband of her, and Grace Kelly's book, "My Book of Flowers," autographed to Edith, and a note from Shirley MacLaine, after the wrap of, "Sweet Charity," wherein she says, "I can now eat again!" Because of my deep roots with costumers, I have always given them much respect, on the films that I've worked on. "American Beauty, " "Crash," "3:10 to Yuma," "Body of Lies," and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," are a few of my films.
