He had a journal that detailed some accounts of travelling with gypsies before D Day in order to kill certain SS officers. There was one account that he killed one in his sleep.
We had always wondered if he let fantasy take over as he was a writer for many years. But, I believe in 1987 (I was born 1990) my aunt was with him and he named names of people who had helped design the bombs for Japan. He was able to do this, pre Internet era, so we had suspicions. I will try to return with more information.

Do you recall a Patrick O'Neal, maybe from Louisiana?
He was my grandfather and the family has had suspicions of his involvement with the OSS, and I know this is a bit of a stretch to ask.
