What's it like living on a reservation? Does it feel like the US? Would your rather live in a regular city?

What I noticed was that in Montana the reservations are so large but usually so far away from other towns/citys that it usually feels clear that you're in a different place, not that it's different than the us - didn't really mean to imply that it was different, just that it is more independent.
