I can answer that. They are realistic to a point. Everything is much smaller and the planets have much greater density than you would find in real life(so you can have a 600km body with 1G surface gravity). And there is only a simplified, 2-body gravity model rather than 3-body or n-body integration that you would need to model Lagrange points and orbital perturbations. Additionally, the game's solar system would be unstable with several moons getting ejected from their orbits within hours or days in "real life."
