I agree. They both said they'd rather not even get a medal than receive that AAM.

I kind of thought that was the whole point of the Campaign Service Medals, like a participation award. Don't see why they have to try to throw some other ones at people for doing nothing out of the ordinary.

My brother and dad who were both vets were having a discussion about AAM's today and agreed if they got one as E5+ they'd feel like it was a slap in the face and be pissed.

Brother also had someone sign him up and was accepted for a MSM for cleaning up a lot of the lying bullshit in ops. The lieutenant or whoever (can't remember) signed him up for it got restationed and he never ended up getting it. Instead, he got kicked out of ops for not lying on the numbers like the new dickbag wanted him to. The Army seems fucked up, he can't wait to get out next year.

My dad was a recruiter for a while and tried to talk me into it, or another branch to be fair. I remembered listening to him bitch about it enough for 20 years to know I never wanted to put myself through that bullshit.
