To be fair hygiene had as big a role in saving lives as vaccines have. Surgery that doesn't infect patients, the elimination of cholera and other waterborne diseases. Hell, I nearly died as a newborn because a midwife who didn't clean her hands gave me an e.coli infection. So it's more they have half the picture than they have it wrong

In 2011 you took part in a talk at Leicester library on commercial spaceflight - unfortunately I missed it for various reasons, mostly study-related. Are there any chances of future talks in the area? As fun as it is reading fiction I enjoy hearing what authors think will happen in the real world in a more direct manner even more, that's what it's all about [to me] at the end of the day ;)

I don't think you need a lot of money to manage it. Get a work visa and so long as you hold a job down extending the visa is just a formality. Manage it for 5-8 years depending on the country and indefinite leave to remain is available. You certainly don't need to buy property. None of my friends or colleagues who emigrated from China had to, anyway.
