The HK government is now just a puppet of the Chinese Communist Party. It was suppose to be different, but the PRC is slowly killing its golden egg laying goose. Too bad, but had it remained as it was a decade ago, it would have helped to destroy the grip that the CCP has on China.

Tsunamis are really only an issue if you are close to shore... in either on land or at sea. What matters also is how deep the water is at the location you are at, where shallow water is the real danger when at sea. Shallow water amplifies the wave energy and is what causes the large crests in the waves. That is why places that have very deep water that goes shallow very quickly, like off the north shore of Oahu in Hawaii, the waves become quite huge (but make for really awesome surfing).

Odds are though that if you are doing recreational diving, you would likely be in shallow water fairly close to shore. The best thing to do is get on the boat and GTFO like the parent poster said. Don't head to a harbor, but go out to sea and preferably to a deep sea area (other weather conditions permitting) and tune into emergency radio transmission channels.

Pinball machines also used to give out cash prizes, which blurred the distinction a whole lot more, and in a real sense were gambling machines in their own right. Even now you can find arcade games that spit out tickets for various prizes... that may be legal or illegal depending on the area of the country you are at. Also, some of the early pinball machines didn't even have flippers controlled by the player, but rather simply dropped balls down some bumpers and went in various holes.... again really just a game of chance.

The pure entertainment style of arcade machines where you dropped a quarter or two into a slot to amuse yourself for a few minutes to an hour didn't really happen until the 1950's, and was motivated specifically to avoid the gambling laws. That is why the flippers were also added to most pinball games... to turn them into games of skill when they previously weren't.

Would you consider yourself to be more of a deist (aka there may very likely be a God, but who or what that might be is not clear), or do you still consider yourself Christian in a general sense (aka the New Testament is still important in your personal beliefs)?

Not trying to be judgemental, mostly because I have sort of gone through this myself and find value in the ideas of Jesus even if organized religions might be full of corruption and question formal theology and creeds.

Do you have plans to ever go over the mountain from Liberty and get into Paradise or Hyrum? If so, I might even be interested :)

As a Cache Valley local, while there is competition in the form of Comcast vs. Century Link, it is still pretty miserable. Then again, Ogden Valley is an awesome place to live and I can completely understand why you are making a stand where you are at!
