That area is too close to Turkey"s border. Turks will strongly protest any U.S. support there. I was more specifically referring to the Manbij region.

The entire Iraq/Syria region is fighting a civil war between Sunni,Shia,and Kurdish factions. Why does the U.S. insist on keeping the area intact when in reality, partition makes more sense for a lasting peace?
