I work for a WISP that primarily provides internet to businesses. Residential is usually too cost-prohibitive to provide without charging customers way more than they are used to paying comcast or AT&T. How can WISPs be competitive in the residential market?

Depends on the website. If it's your basic "brochure" website, sure, that's a piece of cake. If it's loaded with tons of dynamic forms and interactive interfaces, maintaining aesthetics can get complicated rather quickly.

As a web app developer, it always surprises me how caught up people are on the looks of a website. People will gladly abandon a functionally superior website in favor of one that looks prettier.
