How would a priest 100 years ago have answered that same question? 300 years ago. 200 years from now? Aren't you (the Catholic Church) just always playing catchup to what the appropriate and "acceptable" parts of god's word really are?

Most of the articles are unclear about repercussions stemming from the Vatican tribunal. Internal vs secular etc.

I'm encouraged by the words of the curent pope. Will/should they be fully turned over for secular justice?

As I said I'm encouraged. These are positive steps. I'm referring to the recent creation of a committee(group?) to hold bishops accountable and open them to sanctions and excommunication. I could search for the specific news story that was so encouraging. Not trying to be a dick.

Not really what I was driving at. I will credit that the Catholic Church (of all the great religions of the world) has been the least antagonistic with science (with a few exception). I'm referring more of course to social convention. Is it your contentikn that catholic social doctrine had been immutable and consistent for the last 309 years and will continue to be so for the next 200?
