That and how many directors would kill for the opportunity to have an of age actor for younger roles, like high schoolers. Having young actors introduces tons of liability and usually parents need to be present for certain scenes (especially awkward ones like physical or romantic scenes). Iirc for others, that's why high school shows have 20+ year olds and totally skew how we see teenagers.

Op if you've ever considered acting, go for it, because you might be in a niche market until your condition is sorted.

Hi Priya, thanks for doing this. I hope you get some fantastic questions.

This might be very pointed, and maybe not your specialty at all, but how do you deal with depression in long living animals, who attach very deeply, like macaws? Especially in a zoo environment? Do you think it's ethical to allow these types of animals as pets, since they almost always outlive the owners?

Context but not necessary to respond directly to: I interact regularly with ~12 scarlet macaws at a rescue, and one recently has been striking me hard. His owner passed away, after having the bird 65 years, and he ended up with us. He's in spectacular health, except for this bit. The bird is beyond depressed, even with others in an aviary he's having a hard time and mentioning the older fellow by name (we have a volunteer of the same name) makes the bird incredibly stressed out.

We're kind of at our wits end with assisting, nothing seems to help, he just wants to sit in the corner all day and ask, "is (owner name) home?" And then obsessively preen, not eat, and is starting to become aggressive... He's interacted with us numerous times before the owner passed and this just isn't him. It feels like he's getting sent to an early grave.

Thanks for this, I'll let the rescue know if they haven't already checked, their vets are usually pretty on top of stuff, but who knows, maybe they haven't thought of this route. I'm just a lowly volunteer with a lot of interaction experience with birds. I appreciate you taking the time to google it more!

Yeah, there wasn't anyone willing or able to take him in as a house parrot at this time, so he stays in a rescue for now with a group since he is non-violent to other parrots.
