The only purpose of state sponsored marriage is to assign laws in regards to marriage.

You don't need a permission slip from the state to "marry". Gay people were getting married before 2004. You need the state to approve your marriage in order to benefit from laws relating to marriage.

IMO, talking about "a lack of legitimacy" of marriage is an argument in semantics seperate from the issues at hand. Gay marriage is entirely an issue of equal protection under the law.

On a browser, GMail scans for date/time mentions and adds dashed lines to quickly create a calendar event. Can you please add this to both Inbox in the browser and app? It seems to me like this feature would be obviously complementary to the core idea of Inbox. Thanks!

I'd err on the side of caution, and never put anything on Facebook that I wouldn't mind the whole world seeing. Facebook has, on more than one occasion, introduced brand new features with default privacy settings set to open. Furthermore, nothing is stopping someone on your friends list from reposting what you post.
