In what kind of world is $16k "not a lot of money"? That's a metric fuck ton of money to millions upon millions of people. I don't know a single person who would consider that not a lot of money.

Considering he's investing it in his life and self esteem I'm guessing it's a wise investment.

How much was your last car? For example, I found a budget 2014 luxury sedan for under 30k and it'll last me half a decade before I either dump money into it or sell it for like 7.5k.

It's more a perspective on investment type of thing.

If you don't know anyone who thinks 16k is "not a lot of money" then idk, must be younger. Once you get older and into your career(s) and start saving/investing in your retirement - 16k isn't a whole lot.
