I once had a boss at a company that told me I need to recognize what I’m good at and what I’m not good at, which in her view was—good at working hard and producing analytic work product but bad at politics, salesmanship, first impressions, talking on my feet, charismatic and articulate, so she told me to find a research position instead of staying in corporate America where I need to be super “on” and not a timid nerd . If you don’t have the innate talent for being super charming/political, good on your feet and are more of an introvert, should you just play to your strengths like my former boss suggested or is there a level of sufficient competence that one can reach vía hard work such that you can have a decent career in a company?

What do you think of doctor salaries in the US versus in Germany? Many Americans (who are not doctors) complain that doctor salaries are way too high and that it attracts many talented people into medicine, particularly fields like dermatology, just for the pay.
