Same thing goes for restaurants. My father used to collect bagels from a bagel/coffee chain at the end of the day and drop them off at a local food pantry/shelter.
This particular company sold their "Yesterday's Bagels" the day after they were made, but were not allowed to sell them on day three of their bagel-life. He did this for about a year before someone in the company mentioned it to HQ. The shop he collected from showed him the Cease and Desist letter they received, and my father threw a shit-fit.
He ended up talking to the man second-in-command of the company and changing their whole policy on what happens to "old bagels." He now is allowed to donate their leftover bagels to the city mission, and was even given a tax write-off letter for each day he collected/donated (which is every day.)
This started about five years ago, and to this day, I don't believe he's ever claimed it on his taxes. My dad <3

Go on, tell us about "tubes donuts," please!! There aren't any Tim Horton's around here, but you have piqued my curiosity.

We had lunch-monitors who watched over the cafeteria the whole time. It was one teacher per lunch shift, per week. Seemed to keep us in line.

What is something you learned growing up that people these days aren't being taught (but should be)?
