If Poe influenced Dostoevsky, so maybe just as tradition of gothic tale. Dostoevsky wrote two gothic stories in his early ears (The Double and The Landlady).

As I know, the only translation Dostoevsky promised was "Matilda" by Eugen Sue. There aren't any translation of it on Russian still.

Is there any influence of Russian culture for Poe? Did he mention Russia in any of his stories?

Is it possible in near future to create an artificial eye with an extended spectrum? Like with possibility to see infrared part?
