Last week we had a silver guy on a flight to BKK complain cause he was on capacity (so he had no seat) - eco was overbooked, business was empty. So we would have upgraded him according with company procedure.

he complained that he didnt have a seat (cause he is silver guy bow before him) before we could start with our work so we gave him the first seat that was available - a seat in the infant row - and the babies were crying already ... happy 10 hour flight ...

As airline staff - you forget the Frequent fliers. The scum of the flying world. And i mean the first tier silver / whatever card holders - not the gold / platinum guys who are actually quite decent folk.

said my carry on bag was too big, but it was unchanged from when I arrived

in 99 % of the cases when this happens the carry on was to heavy / big to begin with but the check in Agent on your departure flight liked you, saw the flight wasn't full, was from a handling company that didn't care, didn't look, or was just plain stupid.

The Agent in spain did probably follow procedure by the book and thus you get problems on the way back. Always fun to explain that to passengers.

There is a bunch down there that are ranked quite high and have a huge network. They achive that often by quite outstanding cabin service which they achieve by flying with full crewed planes - while european planes often fly with some space left on the crew seats.

For example our 777 has always 1 cockpit jump and 3 - 4 cabin jumps free. Thats rare to find on an ME or Asian airlines.

Good for me though - had to fly Narita - home once on a jump seat since the plane was overbooked ... it was ... OK
