How much importance do you give to UX research and UX in general? I know you have a UX designer onboard (a pretty great one it seems). Does he do all the UX research? (if there is any of it done) Or does he focus more on UI design?

Well, good design is often unnoticeable so I think this is what the guys over at Heptabase are doing. Their design is focused on removing friction for the user, I believe, not on fancy interactions. That said, I think they do place importance in aesthetics though.
