Is the game meat store popular? Is it pretty normal for animals like bat's or other wild animals of that nature to be eaten?

There are videos of bats in soups and being served in what looks like resteraunts? Is there any truths to this or is it most likely fake? I'm talking about an actual bat cooked sitting in a bowl of soup.
