$150 is cost prohibitive given the technology. If a $50-ish price point can be reached this could be very easily implemented.

100x this! Given the current perspective on concussive injuries in the NHL, USA Hockey, Hockey Canada - they are poised to accept this product readily.
A perfect example is the M11 helmet developed by Cascade (lacrosse manufacturer) in conjunction with Mark Messier. Designed specifically to cradle and withstand multiple concussive impacts. It was so successful in youth/amateur hockey market (though not in the NHL) that Nike-Bauer bought the technology last year. It is Nike-Bauer's best selling helmet by far. Grassroots sales caused implementation in professional leagues, something rarely seen.
Hockey parents are now paying for baseline concussion testing from medical professionals as a preventive measure in the event of head trauma. Your product technology is as cost effective as that methodology, and it provides actual data critical to medical professionals for diagnosing in the event of injury. USA Hockey already requires mouth guard use from peewee (10+) up.
Feel free to PM me if you would like more information on where to look for contacts. All the best in your endeavors.
