A careful reading of this and it is an improvement over the monstrosity that was called the "People's Rights Amendment" which was a HJR a few years ago. The PRA would have restricted speech in the way the top level commenter fears. This SJ RES 19, however, you must realize, has an interesting loophole. Nothing prevents an individual from taking a salary or withdrawing capital gains in order to fund whatever operation he or she would have done through a corporation in the first place. The only difference is, that there's a tax! Read between the lines and you'll see that this will not reform our government at all, but further move to corrupt it, because now, not only does the "fat cat" billionaire or multi-millionaire have the EXACT SAME POWER, he is able to gain sympathy for having to pay additional tax to do it.
Every legislator ever after: "Wow. This big money guy means business if he's willing to pay 12% in taxes on what he spent on my campaign!"
It makes the problem worse, not better. Typical leftist thinking getting the economy backwards.
