Do you ever feel burnt out or weighted down working with people you know are terminal? If so, how do you cope with it?

My workplace insurance doesn’t cover mental health services outside of a couple free 1-hour sessions with a therapist of their choice. My anxiety about therapists/therapy has always manifested in a feeling of “this won’t work because I hate talking about my problems to people who are just getting paid to listen” type feeling that I’m trying to overcome, but I feel like therapy will benefit me if I can find the right therapist. Can you suggest any resources for someone whose mental health isn’t covered by insurance and who can’t afford therapy it on its own?

Also, I feel like my anxiety gives me nightmares. I have dreams about being killed, being trapped, seeing other people/animals be harmed or killed, frequent dreams about exes hurting me, and other dreams that are completely fantastical and bogus after I wake up and remember them vividly, but are terrifying when I’m asleep. I wake up with my heart racing and sometimes feel scared for days after. Is this something that will have to be medicated or is there something I can do to help it?
