That is a CMTS capability that Comcast called power boost.

It uses a common network service provider feature available on many type of network gear called "burst rate".

On enterprise grade connections and in data centers you usually purchase 2 speeds: committed information rate (your speed package) and burst rate (if the network isn't busy what can you burst to).

While folks think it was scammy, using a burst rate on cable connections did allow the service to perform better when packages were 10 Mbps or lower. Once speeds go above 25 Mbps or so, there isn't really much noticeable improvement on standard web browsing or SD/HD streaming. Then upstream becomes important, until about 4 Mbps for web browsing (minor user experience gains up to 10 Mbps). Then no user noticeable difference (downloads and uploads alone excepted, this is mostly just web browsing experience).

Bursting made pages load a lot better, as the page would burst in at a high rate, and while the user was reading the page their burst tokens would be regenerating. Click a link and the next page would burst in smoking fast. Good user experience.

Speed tests would be altered by this, but the feature was always on, so it's not like speed tests were the only service improved.

Yes. With Adderall I can leave a work meeting and remember/understand what happened, instead of just being bored or triggered and leaving confused.

My only side effects are: cold hands and feet, mild insomnia, agitation when it wears off, paranoia when it’s up.

L-Theanine has fixed everything but cold extremities.

Check the scientific papers on CIDRAP as they come in. Airborne methods seem to be what is suspected to be the #1 vehicle of spread. But don’t take my word for it. Read the papers as they come in, if you have free time.

Adderall does not make me feel stimulated. Not like caffeine or other stimulants.

It makes me feel like my memory is a bit sharper. I’m more likely to stick on a thread of what I’m doing. I’m less impulsive (until it is wearing off), and it doesn’t physically torture me to do boring tasks like cleaning up, or routine parts of my job. My mind isn’t racing off to all the million other things I need to do or learn.

L-Theanine was a great find for me. It makes me feel level when Adderall is in me, instead of a bit paranoid and cranky as it wears off. Twice a day and I feel calm, kind, and OK.

I can. My iPhone has now somehow learned to turn duck into fuck. I honestly don’t know why. I don’t have a custom substitution in. I can only think that I corrected enough duckings that now iOS 16 keyboard knows I type fuck a lot and is being far too fucking helpful about it.

But it’s also hilarious.

You may have invented autocorrect Ken, but you also invented a whole new genre of comedy. A genre of comedy of errors.
