Where do you see AR standing in comparison to VR (Virtual Reality)? Are they good for their own things, AR superior to VR, AR as a next step to VR, etc

How would i go about getting this job? I currently work in software QA but now that I've discovered analysing games and telling the developers how to improve them is a viable career path I am very interested in switching over.
