That's wrong.

In Germany both employer and employee save every month for pension. When you retire, it's calculated how much pension you will get per month. This is calculated from how many years you worked for which salary.

I can't say anything about how ALDI treats it's older employees, but I know they expect a lot of hours from their store and district managers. Older people get sick more often and the German employers have to pay employees even when they are sick and pay the substitute as well.
