How's the fireproof turtle doing?

What kind of due diligence do you do regarding the charities financials? Do you keep track of how much of donations go towards the cause vs operational expenses? etc.

Consider requesting their financials or 990s. You can see how much goes to the cause vs their pockets. Also consider a website such as https://www.charitywatch.org. There are tons of charities out there where you can donate $100 and maybe only $3 makes it to the actual cause.
