IANAE, but I recall hearing somewhere that (in the example of women/girls) vaginal lubrication is an autonomic response, that probably evolved to make any intercourse (consensual or not) less painful and damaging. So no matter how much the woman doesn't want the attack, and no matter how scared/frightened/angry she may be, her body is likely to just go "Hmmm, someone's penetrating me, I'd better get the lubrication going so it's less unpleasant." And (this is completely a blue-sky guess) perhaps orgasm during sexual assault is somehow similar as well, in that it could be an autonomic response that isn't connected at all to the woman's conscious emotions of fear/anger at the assault?

Even without orgasm, I imagine many women come away from that feeling a lot of shame and guilt ("OMG, I actually got wet ... did that mean I 'really' enjoyed it at some level, or I was 'really' aroused?!")

This is why rape and sexual assault are so insidious; you go through at least the same physical and emotional injury and trauma as with a "regular" assault, but with a heapin' extra helpin' of shame and guilt and "what ifs" based on how your body might have reacted to the sexual assault.

Curious if you've had a sperm count test to see if all the plumbing works. (Might be worth doing at some point before the possibility of marriage rears its fertile head.)

And, of course, there's that Monty Python sketch....

For sure. If it works, you'll know in case you find Ms. Right. If it doesn't work, at least you'll be prepared. (My brother only has 2 balls, but he got mumps at age 6 — pre-mumps-vaccine days — and found out later once he got "active" that he's been shooting blanks ever since. Pros and cons, but it was good to know for sure.)

Not so much question, just wanted to quote you here:

Despite the hell I went through with this, I have a lot of empathy for her. Even before I had confirmation of all of her personal challenges, I never wanted her to go to prison in the first place and I do not believe in jail time as a correctional method. I feel like this is the best kind of r/JusticePorn because she's going to get the help she needs, society will (hopefully) gain a functioning member by the end of it all, AND I am personally not being harassed and threatened by her anymore.

... and say "Yes!" I am so glad you can see things this way! So many of our "criminals" are people with mental health issues, addictions, trauma/abuse/neglect in their earlier lives, and/or even conditions like Foetal Alcohol Syndrome/Effect. They need help, not jail. How much would we save on prisons and other aspects of our criminal system if everyone with any such conditions got the help they needed?

I'm sure it must have been quite frightening in the middle of it all, and I wouldn't blame you for being really angry and vindictive at the person. I think it says a lot about you that you are glad she's getting the help she needs. Brava and kudos!

First, I love your music! Acting, too, but when I heard your cover of "You Can Call Me Al", I just pinged! And I love your originals!

Two questions: One, I thought I heard once that while you were on Celebrity Jeopardy a couple of times, you would have loved to be on the "real" Jeopardy, but you're bummed that now you can't. Is that true? (I know you'd totally kick ass on J! ... and I'm a former champ myself, so I love the game.)

Two, do you ever think "Hmmm, I never went to college/university ... maybe someday later, I'll go and get a degree in ________"? And if you do, what would you want to study?

ETA: PS I especially loved seeing you in Mr. Holland's Opus (did you really play clarinet there, and what else do you play besides piano/keyboards?) and Twilight Zone ("The Executions of Grady Finch"). And I wonder what you thought of the campus of the University of British Columbia when you were filming 88 Minutes there; I went there 20 years ago for my MBA, and lived on campus; apart from the rain, I thought it was amazing.

Hope to get into L.A. and see you live sometime! Thanks for the music!
