I just don't know what "advocacy" means when you use it in a broad sense like that. Are you just interested in learning the technical skills to pitch ideas and push for particular interests, and the issues are secondary? Generally you become invested in a cause and find the avenues to support and further it, not the other way around. You can just say you're looking to be a paid lobbyist.
