I think we were one of your stupid calls.

My wife and I got very very sick with the flu. We were somewhat delirious and in that state of mind decided that it may be the result of CO poisoning since we both got sick at the exact same time. I decided to stand outside and get some cool air to see if I feel better...at which point I passed out and collapsed in our doorway, then woke up blind and ran to the bathroom to puke. I'd never passed out before.

I insisted we call an ambulance to check if there was CO. Once they got us in and checked us out they pointed out we had no gas appliances (no sources for CO) and that we just had a bad case of the flu. I felt like an idiot.

Edit: I should add that my wife is still horribly embarrassed about that night because she puked in front of the EMT's and "they were really really hot".

Edit2: Also, I would have to note that I agree - they were extremely good looking guys. I've noticed this is the case for most EMT's - can someone explain how the hell that happens and if I can be hot like EMT's without having to be an EMT?

based on his comment, it sounds like management discouraged or did not perform LOTO procedures.

if that's the case then the consequences are on management.

Sounds like my doctor. I lived with gallstones for almost five years that she said was "just an ulcer". When I suggested gallstones she laughed at me and said men don't get that. The only test she did was for H. Pylori, which came back negative implying that it was unlikely to be an ulcer.

I could have done a $300 ultrasound and not had gallbladder attacks for 4-5 years straight.

When I told my surgeon both the surgeon and the nurse got pissed. Surgeon told me 20% of his gallbladder patients are men and while it's a minority you can't make a diagnosis based on it.

Must be expensive to replace them after they're full.
