Before 'ze Germans' got there.

Which, of course, makes no sense in this context. But what the hell.

Hmmm. Coming from a VERY similar military history, this may explain some things for me. Thanks for the Q&A! I'm gonna go get myself checked out.

Have you had The Glenrothes Select Reserve? If not, it's worth a try... Tastes like... music on the tongue. :D

Edit:

very little meaning for anyone aside from yourself when it comes to sound almost everything.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but I remember, when going through the in-processing days of bootcamp, they made us sit in a sound-tight trailer, with over-the-ear headphones on and a little button-switch in our hand, which we were directed to press every time we heard a tone. Standard hearing test I took many times in elementary school. But man o man, I remember hearing tones when there weren't any, and it got so bad, and my responses were so bad, that they pulled me aside to give me another test, as they thought I had serious hearing impairment (I don't, FYI).

Come to think of it, the doctor? Nurse? Whomever, he put a otoscope-looking thing in my ear, which then blew a puff of air. It was uncomfortable, and for years, whenever I'd get all lathered from exercising, I'd lose a lot of hearing in that ear. It never went totally deaf, but very close, like anyone on that side was really far away, and there was a distinct ringing for maybe 5-10 minutes. It's gone now, and has been for a couple years, but it still worries me, when I think back on it. What was that all about?
