I wouldn't necessarily phrase it as such but point taken. My counterpoint would be if what's on the radio is all the exposure someone gets, isn't it a feedback loop of shitty artists/genres becoming popular? The music sphere as a whole suffers from that outcome, even those of us possessing the wherewithal to turn to other sources for new music, as money is overwhelmingly dedicated to said shitty artists/genres in the name of profit.

Maybe I'm waxing nostalgic and 30 years ago things weren't actually as eclectic as I feel, but listening to terrestrial radio today is so uninteresting in comparison.

Do you think there will ever be a time like the 90s again where there was such a wide breadth of music on the radio? There are more subgenres now than ever and yet everything on the radio seems formulaic and corporate. The 90s felt like a fever dream in comparison, even with the formulaic/corporate stuff of the time thrown in the mix.
