I really admire the work you are doing in exposing these kind of cruelties, but my biggest fear is that most people, while feeling the usual horror and anger at these kind of things, won't feel pushed or even able to do anything about it themselves. So in your opinion, what is something small that everyone one at home is able to do, be it some form of action or just a change in lifestyle, to help bring an end to this?

seems to be the way i guess :( my girlfriend comes from a muslim background herself. everything is kept a bit hush hush from her family, and it seems the only happy endings for couples with muslim women and non muslim men are when the guy converts.

How does your dad fare with your mums family if you don't mind me asking? a bit off topic...

Do they take any issue to your parentage, considering the whole muslim women not meant to marry outside of Islam?

I did go pescetarian for lent once, found it a bit tough at first (especially since i had just started working at a delicious meat pie shop and had to deal with that) but honestly by the end of it I really felt amazing about myself. Its something I've been dying to try again, but that was back when I had the budget to cook up fancy nutritional seafood and vegetarian meals. For now all my unemployed ass can afford is the yellow stickers in Tesco.
