Were you ever worried about being robbed or theft? Some of the lesser-traveled roads don't seem like the safest places. and where would you put your bags when you went to a restaurant or to sightsee? I get that you could lock up you bike but surely you didn't carry your supplies around all the time.

Ya, according to wikipedia its been illegal under a "Certain Conventional weapons ban" in 1980 but has still been used as recently as 2004 in Iraq and by Russian forces in Chechnya as well as allegations of use in Ukraine so it probably won't be going away anytime soon.

I thought white phosphorus was illegal too. Or was that a joke?
