I am a young high school student who is very fascinated with space.

Over the course of the last few months, my friends and I have been building small model rocket engines and experimenting with solid rocket fuel.

In the Spring, we will be launching our first high altitude weather balloon with cameras as a payload.

I have a pretty simple question but it’s one I would love to get your advice on.

Do you have any words of wisdom as we follow this dream? So far the hardest thing for us is feeling like what we are doing is a waste of time or dumb because often times we don’t get success or we get told our dreams will never happen due to our age or other pressures. As a follow up to this, who or what do you think motivated you the most as a young student?
