Do you wear hearing protection? I work with a lot of talented young fabricators, but not one of them is smart enough to use the fucking hearing protection that I provide them with not only because it's the law, but because nobody's hearing is worth a paycheck?

Keep in mind that both Wusthoff and Henkels make low-grade lines that are no better than cuisinart. Do you have the good ones or the overpriced cuisinarts?

Well, usually the guys who start around your age have noticeable hearing problems before they are 30. Even in a quiet room you have to speak loudly to talk to them.

Something to think about. Losing your hearing won't make you less of a knifemaker, but it is nice to be able to have normal hearing throughout your life.
