How common is it to find new species in your field of study ? Have you tested the toxins in the yellow liquid in some assay (i.e. is it hemolitic, just bad tasting...)? Are there plenty of individuals or is it a small population?

Awesome! In Scandinavia we don't get many new species popping up... How hard was it to get the funds for the fieldwork? I couldn't find the paper describing the species, is it out/are you planning on publishing?

Thank you! As a fellow researcher, I was curious if I chose a "poor" branch of biology :) What would be your take-home message from this discovery to convince people that this is extremely important? Especially thinking of land use/ecosystem shifts and the effects on micro/mesofauna (as most publicity is given to large mammals and such)

I meant hemolytic, if it breaks down the RBC

I am quite afraid of anything white-coat related, especially needles. But for donating bone marrow and potentially giving a second chance to someone, I'd actually do whatever it takes me to build up the courage against the needles.

Is there any way to see if I am a potential donor to someone without going through a blood draw? Otherwise, any advice against triphanophobia (fear of needles)?
